History: Tyumen Research Centre, Siberian branch of the
USSR Academy of Science was created in Tyumen in 1990. Its purpose was to
consolidate research activities in order to foster social and economic
development of West Siberian oil and gas producing province.
The main objectives of the Centre are to carry out basic and
applied studies in the framework of research activities important for Western
Siberia and to assist research order to favour social and economic development
of Tyumen region.
Major trends of research and engineering activity:
Geology of oil, gas and condensate fields.
Population and environment.
Public (constitutional) law and management.
Mechanics of multiphase systems and its applications.
